What are prefects?
The staff members nominate the Prefects-- You CANNOT become a Prefect by increasing your post count or constantly nagging staff members.
Prefects are the veteran members of the forum that have proven themselves to be site leaders. They are staff members (not forum moderators), and they are the ones that provide guidance for new members and perform tasks within their house.
When a member becomes a Prefect they are given access to a privilaged section of the forum known as the "Prefects' Lounge." Think of it as a reward of sorts. This opportunity gives our members who aren't Prefects yet something to strive for beyond being just a seventh year.
Who are the prefects?
Finding the name of a prefect is very easy. There are currently one of two ways:
1. Look at the bottom of the forum, at the list of members currently online. If there are any names that are in pale grey, then you know that is a prefect. You can click on those names and send them a PM directly if you have a question.
2. Or.... you can look at the top of the forums, click on the Members tab, then click on More Search Options. In the drop-down menu that says "Show All," click on the selection that says Prefect. Then press Apply Filters. A list of the current prefects will appear.
