Greetings, greetings, one and all. I have the great pleasure of welcoming you all to the very first Triwizard Tournament!
In place of the annual House Cup, this summer, the four Houses will compete against one another...all for a chance at winning their House eternal glory.
There will be three Tasks, spaced throughout the month of August- as well as several additional challenges, the first of which will start this very day. The events will test you all in many different ways. Speed, deduction, imagination, logic, creativity, and wit. These are just a few of the skills you will need to succeed. Not to mention a great deal of teamwork.
The staff have been hard at work over the past several months to bring the Tournament back to life, and they will serve as this year's panel of judges.
And, of course, no Triwizard Tournament would be complete without a set of Champions. Champions (and their respective Houses) will be judged on how well they perform in each of the tasks set before them. The Champion/House with the most points after all the events have been completed will win this year's House Cup. But as I told the students of Hogwarts many years ago, choosing to compete in the Tournament is not for the faint of heart. Once a Champion has been selected, they must see it through to the end. There is no turning back...
And now, to the four esteemed Houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff. I issue you your first challenge...
